Hi! I’m an artist who loves to watch paint slide off a brush! I've felt that way ever since I was three years old and helped paint the old wire fence in our backyard. When I saw that open gallon of silver metallic paint, I thought it was the most beautiful stuff I'd ever seen. Watching that silver paint roll off my big brush and drip down the fence onto the grass was pure joy!
I’m still happy painting fences, but most of my painting today is done on canvas. My paintings are sort of "Goodthoughts" cheerleaders encouraging all of us to hang on to our dreams. Some are colorful stories about the journey that we are all on...they're about hope and believing that good things can happen. They are reminders that God's on the journey with us, leaving little love notes pointing the way. Others are about the beauty that I see right here around me. I hope they will all make you smile.
Then there are my paintings done from dirt. Yes, I'm a gardener! It brings out the child in me! What other hobby let’s you dig in the dirt, play with the water hose, and see something brand new and amazing every day? And flowers are proof that the more you give away, the more you have.
As much as I love painting and gardening, my favorite love is Chuck. He's my husband, sweetie, and best friend. Chuck is a pastor, writer, and fellow dreamer on our journey together. We live in an old Victorian farmhouse in Chatham, Virginia. On a warm, late afternoon you might find us rocking on the front porch, drinking homemade strawberry smoothies, laughing and talking about our day. We enjoy browsing antique shops, day trips on Fridays, and spending time with our two daughters and their families, which include three exceptional grandchildren.
I hope you'll stop by often and join in the conversation. You might have a few Goodthoughts of your own you'd like to share.
Debbie
