It sure is cold here in Virginia right now! I was looking around for a painting with a flower in it to give us all a little hope of springtime and remembered this one. I found this little ceramic bluebird vase in an antique store a few years ago. It sits on my "bluebird table" in my studio and holds erasers and mechanical pencils.
One summer day, I took out the art supplies and added some water, a bright yellow cosmos and a sprig of jasmine vine. The vase looked so cheery...I decided to do a little acrylic painting on a 6 x 8 inch canvas. I like the way it turned out.
This tiny painting hangs in our laundry room over the dryer with an arrangement of colorful antique enamel pot lids. It gives me something nice to look at while I'm folding clothes. Besides...art belongs in every room in the house!
