"Going Home" is a celebration of my Aunt Lora's life. She died last year at 97. The painting shows her at the moment she lifted up from her bed into heaven. Her beloved husband of over 50 years who had died in 1978 greets his bride with a smile. She carries in her hands bouquets of flowers that represent the good things she did for others. Her family and friends who got to heaven before her look on from above. Uncle Bill's bird dog Dan flies through the sky with angel wings happy to see her again. A fish from one of our many fishing trips looks up in friendly welcome. The triangles are reminders of God's guidance throughout her life. The celebration begins with a little heavenly confetti sprinkled by a cheerful angel for Aunt Lora's arrival!

Let Flowers Bloom!

Let Flowers Bloom!

Before Christmas 2005 I had an idea to do paintings of people with flowers growing out of their heads! You know how sometimes God plants a little seed of an idea or dream in our head? Then it grows in our mind just like a little garden. We can water our dreams with thankfulness, beauty, quietness, generosity and more goodthoughts.
