I love to have my favorite quotes and Bible verses sitting around where I can see them during the day. Four years ago, I had the idea to combine my favorite verses with my Bluebird paintings on colorful little cards. I called them "Goodthoughts Cards." At first, I just made them for the children at church. The kids really liked them. Some taped them to their bedroom mirrors or kept them in a stack like baseball cards. Then the adults began asking if they could have some, too.
I started printing them on my computer and passing them out to people who looked like they needed a "goodthought!" I gave them to my family, my friends, left them at restaurants with my tip, put them in organza bags and gave them as gifts, took them to people in the hospital--I pretty much gave them to anybody who would take one!!
My friends asked to buy "Goodthoughts Cards" of their own to give away or put in birthday cards, so I began selling them in colorful organza bags at the local antique mall. People I don't know, sometimes see me on the street and ask, "Aren't you the lady that makes the "Goodthoughts Cards?" My friend gave me one last year and I still have it on the refrigerator." It's gratifying to know that something as insignificant as a little card can bring encouragement to strangers as well as friends.
We all need and appreciate a "goodthought!"
A "goodthought" can put a smile on a tired face.
A "goodthought" can bring hope to a hopeless situation.
A "goodthought" can help a dream stay alive.
A "goodthought" can connect two people who are strangers.
A "goodthought" can say you're not alone.
A "goodthought" can give comfort to the sick.
A "goodthought" can say "hang in there!"
Today I'm giving a few "Goodthoughts Cards" to you. You can print them out and put them on the fridge or share them with friends. I print them on index paper and cut them apart with a mini paper cutter, but scissors would work just fine. I hope you enjoy the colors and verses. Let me hear from you if you have fun passing them on. You know, it's hard to keep a "goodthought" to yourself!
Click on the "Goodthoughts Cards" photo album in the lower right column. I'll add more later.
Added note: Some people have been unable to print the cards clearly in their 2.5 x 4 inch size. I hope the cards print clearly for you. I uploaded them at high resolution but the blogsite may be resizing them for the web.
Debbie-
I really enjoy checking out your BLOG. I stiil love the story about Pretty Kitty. Have you considering developing that into a children's book?
Good luck......

Hi, Lisa,
I'm glad you like the story of "Pretty Kitty." You know, I hadn't thought about a children's book, but it would make a great story. You may be on to something! Maybe I'll give it a try.
I wrote a children's story in November called "Your Mind Has Wings." I'm trying to figure out the best way to put it up on the blog. Thanks for your encouragement! I was just with "Pretty Kitty" this morning at the labyrinth...he's such a character! I'm sure he has other stories he could tell!

I printed a Good thoughts card today, and it felt good! God gave me a good thought yesterday, when someone asked me if I belonged to CBC. Without thinking I said yes, this is my church..and then I thought I'd better make it official. So I talked to Chuck about it this morning and it felt just as good as printing a goodthought card!! Probably better!

Lori,
You've just had "goodthoughts" popping up everywhere in all different shapes and sizes! We already feel you're a part of us at CBC but it's our gain to have if official.
